Hate The Smell Of Coffee!

Just spent the last almost two hours slaving over a math text book...and the 4 hours before that playing Temple Run and pretty much just procrastinating at Blenz. I thought about going in for hot yoga since it starts in about 30 mins, but I do have a midterm today and it's probably in the best interest that I try and get some sleep. Here are a couple of pictures from yesterday and today.

So a friend of mine is here from HK and she wanted to play at Planet Laser...and here's my score sheet. 9th out of about 30 isn't too bad...
So interesting story that goes along with this is that we were pretty much the only adults there...all the rest were kids around the ages of 10-13, there was some birthday party and so we ended up playing with them...now I work at an elementary school, and the urge to smack a kid across the head is usually pretty high, but never has it been so high as it was during laser tag. I had some kid come up to me, look me in the eyes, flip me the bird, and call me a bitch and then just stride away...WTF!!!! He was an ugly dude too...and every time I saw him I made sure to remind him of that fact and tell him to go get some love from his parents, cause obviously he was lacking in that department. Brattiest little kids ever. At one point I saw one of my friends holding a kids gun...turns out the kid ran up to him and ripped his gun out of his hand and was telling his friends to shoot him. These kids were like little monsters. No wonder Justin Bieber ended up punching a kid. I wanted too!

Afterwards we went to WhiteSpot! This is there Dijon Burger...pretty good, I think I might end up getting this more often...

Ramses this morning when I got out of bed and threw my covers onto him!

Grade 1's playing 'Squirrels and Foxes' - SOOO CUTE!!!

Creeper shot of a cute girl in my class for Gary!

w00t w00t!!! How you like that Linda=P

Alright, I think I need to get to bed, for some reason my eyes started to go a bit blurry towards the end there and my head started to swim. Off to sleep for around 5 hours. Later days!

#*%^&*@&$@!#$%!!!!

***Edited***
Wasn't really the happiest post and kind of just needed to get my frustrations out...but since then I've re-read it and decided to do away with this one. =D It's been archived and stored away=)

Skating Hurts the Feet and the Ego!

Wow...this is like day 13 of my blog and so far I've pretty much managed to write in it every single day. I'm even impressing myself...

So I just want to do a quick little blurb about something I realized today, before I rush off to dine out...so I just got back from skating with the kids today...and you know what I realized, skating makes my feet hurt like a mofo!!! I know, I haven't used the term 'mofo' since I was a kid, but damn, it makes them hurt so much. Nothing is as frustrating as having a foot cramp, whether it's boarding or skating, they just suck, cause you can't relieve them until you take off whatever is on your foot. But once you do, it feels AMAZING!!! I don't know if it's cause I have fat feet, or maybe I have flat feet...either way, all I know is that skating is not enjoyable, for that one reason alone.

Picture of Minoru Ice Rink!

Another shot, but from the other side!

Maddie's skate next to my shoes...dang, my shoes are dirty!

Fact or Crap! Interesting game we found at the mall afterwards!

Alright, I should run off and go have a shower. I managed to wake up early again and do some hot yoga and went to go play hockey afterwards. We ended up playing against the number one team at the tournament, and they pretty much managed to destroy us...12-1, but it was still fun, and we ended up giving them a few nice bruises in the end of it. I love battling it out against the boards against another big guy and just how it becomes a shoving match at the end of it all. Maybe I should practice for next years tournament...alright, well I should run off and shower like I said I would earlier. Bye for now...

...Hello, and back again...man I'm tired. I'm just going to post up some pics and jump into bed. It's been such a long day, and I'm in desperate need of sleep...and something to drink. I'm so thirsty...Mmmm, I know people say water doesn't really taste like anything...but I swear, sometimes it does and it feels so refreshing!!!

So a bunch of us went out for Dine Out Vancouver tonight to a place called the Cork and Fin...if you get the chance to go there, don't! Save yourself the trouble. It's really not that great, besides the oysters, everything else tasted really bland. I'm not a food expert or anything, but two of the people that we went with are, like one of them is a chef and the other one runs a popular food blog...and it just wasn't worth the 50 bucks that it costed us...but if nothing else the food LOOKED really good! Here are some pics, I didn't get all the pictures, but yah...it's weird, the best part of all the food they served was the free bread with butter!!! Mmmm, butter!!!

Lobster Salad...the lobster was too chewy and bland...

Rare Peppercorn Striploin Steak...it didn't taste like pepercorn...in fact it didn't taste like much of anything...you could taste hints of peppercorn...but in the end it was just...meh, no good! But it sure does look amazing!!!

Alright, well time for me to jump into bed and fall asleep watching friends. Here's one last picture of my new SFU Ultimate jersey, looks so AWESOME!

SFU CLAM!

Later days.

Bad Hair Day...For Awhile!!!

Wimbledon!!!! I love this movie. Maybe it's the British aspect of the movie...although I'm pretty sure it's an American made movie, but it has that slight British aspect to it. I love British humor, it's so dry and yet witty. Plus in this movie Kristen Dunst looks absolutely amazing...I don't know what it is, but she looks good in this movie!!!

But yes, let's see...what's new with me today? Nothing really...woke up early this morning, went in to do some hot yoga, which really felt great. I think it's cause I'm rarely ever up that early in the morning...and when I am, it really does feel like quite a treat. Plus yoga is pretty relaxing and it's great to get a workout in the morning. After yoga, I went home and napped for a bit and headed out to work. Work was great...we didn't have to do too much. Mixed some cement to fill in some holes we found around the grounds and after that just finished some side jobs that we've been putting off...and took a few pictures around the office...

All these things around the office that I have no clue what they do...

This is a toque that my co-worker has...it's the bird from Angry Birds!!!

My screwdriver...this was given to me on my first day at work=)

This was also given to me on my first day!!!

...after taking pictures it was time for hot pot!!! It was like a 2 hour lunch, cause the staff had a professional day and so we did what everyone enjoys doing...eating=) After yoga, I went home and relaxed, read my some Sherlock Holmes took a nap and met up with Gary and Michael to do some more yogaing...is that the term? Yogaing? Oh well, we got out sweat on, and after that just went to a friends and played 'Just Dance 3' on the Wii. That game builds up a pretty crazy sweat...who would have known.

Pretty fun game, as long as you have the right people playing!

Ohhhh...I almost forgot the most interesting thing. So after work I went to go get a hair cut cause my hair was starting to get shaggy and stuff...and well I'm Asian so I went to this place underneath Superstore. It's the only place that I know that does 10 dollar hair cuts...and they are pretty good. I've only been to them three times now, but so far they've all been good and they take their time and are nice and everything. Usually theirs a line, I guess cause it's so cheap, and so today I brought my novel with me fully expecting to wait. When I arrived, there was no line, just a kid getting his hair cut, and an older Chinese man and a Filipino woman watching some Chinese music video. I've had the Filipino lady before, and so I thought to myself, sweet, she did a good job last time. This is going to be great. Right when I walked in the Asian man stands up and says to me "You want haircut? I give you haircut!" and points me to a chair. So I think to myself "Darn, not really the person I had wanted, but it should be fine, my hair is really easy and simple to cut. No big deal". Apparently what he was thinking  was "Oh, look at this chubby Vietnamese kid, time to give him the typical Vietnamese haircut". So I sat down and he asked me what I wanted and I told him, I usually just spike my hair when I do it...and he nodded and told me he's got it down...and he proceeded to cut my hair...so for me, I'm a nice guy, and I know that these people take pride in their work, and they try hard and I would hate it if people criticized me when I was at work...plus I'm not really that particular about my hair in general...and I could tell when the guy took the number 1 clip to the sides of my hair right away that things were going to go bad (for those of you who don't know, I already have a fat face and a big head...a number 1 clip to the side, just draws attention to that) and so...maybe stupidly, I thought to myself "Time to go along for the ride". Even in the mirror, I saw that Filipino lady looking at me with sympathy as the guy continued to cut my hair...it's not like I went in wearing a bomber jacket and kappa track pants...but yes...so now I either look like an older, fatter Vietnamese kid...or an out of shape MMA fighter...either way, I've had better hair cuts...but I've also had worse, so I guess things aren't too bad.

Alright I should get some sleep if I wanna wake up for yoga in 2 and a half hours. Later days.

Saw this on FB, a friend of mine made it=)

Yogi Bear?!?!?!?

Yoga in the morning...feels good, but only getting 3 hours worth of sleep sucks! This will be a hecka short blog cause I'm going to take my fat ass into bed, we'll see if I manage to wake up and do yoga again.

Found this on my desk when I sat down for my first class...

Picture from the back of my Can. Lit. class!

Found Ramses in my bed when I came home from class...keeping my bed warm?

New bbt place that we've been going to. Called 'The One'...so originally I had wanted to take a picture of this crazy drink. It was double this in height...like no joke. Twice this tall...but the waiter walking away there put a cup over it all and took off the top part...*sigh* he ruined it!!!

My dinner! Spice Eggplant and Pork on Rice...and the same waiters arm at the top of the picture...hate him!!!

Wrapped Mandarin Orange...dessert=)

NyQuil, my new best friend to get over this cold!!!

Alright, that's all for now. Time for me to jump into bed and PTFO! Later days.

"Call Me Maybe"

*sigh* in Blenz right now and rocking out Carly Rae Jepsens - "Call Me Maybe"...I know it's so wrong...but it feels so right!!! Oh, Ernie just came in. My favorite, horny, old man! Haha, Ernie saw me typing on my blog and saw the title Random Thoughts, Pictures and Ramblings and he said to figure out "Why he was born good looking instead of rich?" - it's a good question, I struggle with the same dilemma. JK. *sigh* I wish I had that kind of dilemma.

So today...what did I do today. Nothing really. I actually didn't get up to much...I was suppose to go into work...but I didn't. I figured that I still have a cough and I think I can get away with one more 'sick day'. So instead I slept in most of the day. Eventually I had to get out of bed so I can head out to hot yoga with Gary. That was pretty interesting. I've really never sweated so much in my entire life. I've ran the Sun Run in the blazing sun, to the point where I almost passed out from heat exhaustion, and played an ulti tournament in 35+ degree weather in the Okanagan, but never before have I sweat as much as I did last night. It was literally flowing out and off of me. It was pretty insane. Much harder than I would have expected, but it was quite enjoyable. I have a new found respect for people that can hold and sustain some of those poses. Some of those poses are just incredible.

So after the yoga class, I showered up, and realized that I wasn't fully prepared for yoga...why? Well because I didn't bring any boxers, and my underarmour which I had worn under my shorts were pretty wet. Also found out that Gary was likewise not prepared for all the intricies of yoga...

...so commando and free, Gary and I left Yyoga and met up with Angel and Linda at our usual late night food choice, Kota. They got quite a good kick out of our lack of attire, but as always, it was a joy being able to hang out with the two of them. We're all very alike in how open and relaxed we are in a number of things, and it just makes for a good time. After sushi I took off for Blenz and this is where I've been for the last 5 hours or so...here comes the interesting conundrum that I find myself in...so Gary and I, when we went to yoga, found out that drop in would come up to around 20 dollars, plus mats and towels, but they have a promo going on, which is 35 dollars for unlimited yoga for two weeks, and it includes mats and towels...so of course, we're Asian and we went for that one! But I'm Asian, and the Asian side of me says that I have to make sure that I get my moneys worth, which means I have to go as much as I can within the next two week. Since I am already up, and they open in an hour...I feel like there's no better time than the present to start using my unlimited two week pass...so instead of heading home to sleep like I normally would right now, I've decided to wait till 6:30 so I can get a morning session in, and then head home and pass out before class...probably one of the dumbest things I've decided to do in awhile. But we'll see how it goes...maybe I'll get some shuteye right now...good idea. Alright, later days.

Booyah!!!! Eat that Linda!!!!

Oh yah I think I'm going to try and find some kind of picture/blog list, so that I can a little bit of flow to my pictures that I post. We'll see how that goes. The only thing that's holding me back from searching online is that I'm lazy...but I will do it by the end of the weekend, if not sooner...

Wish I Was MORE Chinese!

=) Yay, found my old cordless headphones. They're not really crazy quality or anything, but it's kind of nice to be able to be in my room listening to music and get up and walk to the kitchen and still be listening to my music.

Me headphones!!!

I love music. Now I know that I probably don't have the greatest taste in music...and there isn't really any type of music that I prefer over any other. My alarm clock is set to JRFM, my car (well right now it's on Team 1040) is usually set to The Beat or Virgin (I miss when it was 'Z'), my iPod is filled with R&B, Rap, Techno, Classic Rock, Rock N Roll, Hip Hop, House, Instrumentals, Acapella, Classical, Dubstep, and Disney (Disney get's it's own category).

"All good music resembles something. Good music stirs by its mysterious resemblance to the objects and feelings which motivated it."- Jean Cocteau

I think why I like so many different songs is cause I have a lot of fond memories or feelings that are triggered by certain songs. Whether it's DC Talk and the summer of '99, or Bedrock and Spring Reign of 2010. There are so many songs, that make me feel happy. Likewise there are a number of songs that make me feel sad, but those ones are special too. Music can place us on top of the world, or bring us to the lowest depths. It has the ability to give us energy for the day, or soothe us to sleep. I love how music can command a physical response and awaken emotion in it's listener...

Alright, I shall end off here for now. Gotta go to a belated Chinese New Year dinner and head to volleyball. Let's see if my team can go 6-0, *fingers crossed*. Till later on tonight when I will continue you, Mr Blog=P

This years haul *drum roll* $20!!!!

But of course it's not about the money. I had a great talk with an older gentleman today about Chinese New Years and about how it's about the tradition of it all. He said for 'white people', during Christmas, they all head home and have a nice Christmas dinner at home. Why? Cause it's tradition. For 'yellow people' it should be the same thing. Chinese people should be heading home during Chinese New Years and have a nice dinner at home, to keep the tradition going. No excuses of being to busy...to busy for what? Family? I haven't thought everything through about that convo, but it was interesting. The idea of traditions...and what kind of things we do cause of traditions. But I have to say, there's something nice about getting together around the dinner table and eating a 'traditional' Chinese dinner.

Reminded me of this video...I don't quite know how to put the video in here so it can just be watched...but I'll just put in the link:

Alright, well I'm dead tired from volleyball, so I'm going to get some sleep before I gotta be at work in 4 hours=/ Later days.

6-0!!!!!

"I Left My Heart In San Francisco"

5:26 AM and I'm starting my blog...a sign that school is really starting to kick into gear. Another sign of that is that I just got home from Blenz. It really is my second home there. Maybe tomorrow I'll try to take a few more pictures of different things around Blenz. Nothing special happened today...I woke up to a phone call from a friend of mine and he needed a ride to the airport, so went and did that. Came home and posted my San Francisco pictures up onto Facebook and I was planning on going to class...but was talking to a good friend of mine and she mentioned that she was skipping her evening class...and that got me thinking...I don't want to go to my evening class either...so I decided to go to sleep and set an alarm just in case I felt like going...but the alarm went off and I turned it off and woke up well into my class...so yah, I didn't go. Went out to eat at Bubble World and went to Blenz to conquer some Math. It really does feel good when I start to get it. The only problem is that I'm slow like molasses when it comes to solving problems. Like I know that I can solve them, it just takes me a hecka long time to do it. So I'll keep working on that, we'll see how it goes.

So I only really took one picture today. I thought it was funny. My mom is trying to get rid of a bunch of things from our pantry and so what she does is she takes food that she wants to get rid of and puts them by my computer table, cause she knows that I'll just grab the closest thing and start to much or drink away...and so this is what I found by my desk today:

SoBe drinks...she got these awhile ago in the states...WTH the stupid life water one expired already - Feb 15/10...damn...that's the one that I just drank from...at least the other one doesn't expire till Nov...WTH - Nov 07/11...no wonder she wants to get rid of them...

PROOF!!!!

Alright, so I guess I'll post up a few pictures from my San Fran Trip - 2011. *sigh* SF, my second home. I love that place!!!
San Fran - SF - Frisco - City by the Bay - The City

Going through the Oregon Mountain Range we had to stop to put on chains. Crazy!!!

Love the contrast, this shot was taken 2-3 hours after the one above it. Gotta love California!

There's lots of really nice graffiti in SF

Little house that caught my eye

Ferry Building! Go here on Tues, Thurs and Sat, before 2pm and go to the Farmers Market! A great place for foodies!
Speaking of FOOD!!! LITTLE LUCAS!!! A 'hole-in-a-wall' and a must go if you're in SF!
Be prepared for line-ups!

What's a trip to SF without stopping by Haight-Ashbury!
Ultimate hipster place. Prior to the Gap coming in, their was an unwritten rule that nothing 'corporate' was allowed to set up in this district. Some things of changed, but it remains pretty hipster.

SF at night, by AT&T Stadium

Oakland Bay Bridge at longgggg exposure!

Twin Peaks! Highest point in SF and probably one of the nicest views of the whole of San Fran!
...although Sausalito has an amazing view of the San Fran skyline...

So that ends my SF pics from 2011. Now I know there are no shots of the Golden Gate Bridge, Alcatraz, AT&T Stadium, Sausalito or Pier 39. I have some from other times I've gone there, but this was less of a tourist trip and more of a 'going-to-some-of-my-more-favorite-places' trips (although we did go to Pier 39, but I forgot to charge up the camera that day).

Oh how I miss SF...great memories, amazing food, and even better people. Thanks for everything SF!

Alright, I think it's time for me to jet...it's pretty late...or early. I leave off with this quote:
"It is that the chief proof of a man's real greatness lies in his perception of his own smallness" - Sherlock Holmes (Sir Arthur Conan Doyle) - The Sign of Four

Later days.

Goob: "Mmm. That's good joe."

So this will count as my study break...Math, DAMN YOU MATH!!! Math puts me in such a foul, foul mood. I just wish that it came easily to me...but it doesn't. It's really like another language. There are times where I feel like I'm starting to get a grasp on it, but like sand through an hourglass it slips through my fingers. Just feels like one of those days..."went to bed on top of the world, today the worlds on top of me". Damn you Math and putting me in such a foul mood. Now my brain just won't stop flitting from one shitty thing to another (ha, like flys to...well yah...shit)...I'm using blogging as a way to take a break...but I feel like I should get back to some studying. Maybe I'll do some other readings. Happy Chinese New Years everyone!!! At least I have music, I love how music can change my mood and make things feel better. Here's a song I'm listening to right now, I actually got to hear them in concert before when I was younger and they were playing at a pub in downtown:
Fast Car/Wash Away - Vertical Horizon

I smell like coffee! Outside you know it's just past midnight, dark and everything is closing down, but inside the smell of morning is in the air. Guess this is when I know that school is starting to kick into full gear, when I start to come home smelling like coffee!

Waves...my first of two coffee shops today=/

So while studying for my Career Counselling class I came across an interesting article. It's called Holland's Theory of Types and it says that "career choice and career adjustment represent an extension of a person personality". This article goes into further details about assessing peoples personality types and from there assigning them an environment that works well with their personality. Now the article doesn't just stop at career choices, but also looks at interests, hobbies, education, intelligence and many other things, but it's this quote that got me thinking about the jobs I've had in the past and what it says about my personality. My very first job was working at the Dairy Queen as a kid when my Aunt and Uncle owned it. I quit that job quickly because it was too stressful working for them. My second job was doing construction work in downtown. We were tiling one of the buildings and it was a physically demanding job, but I enjoyed it. My third job was at WhiteSpot, my friend got me the job and I enjoyed it cause I loved interacting with different customers. My fourth job was at Save on Foods in the meat department. The job itself kind of sucked, but the people I worked with were awesome and made the job probably one of my favorites. Not a stimulating job in any ways, but it was easy and slack! My fifth job was at the Dairy Queen when my family took over. That was tough, being thrown into a management position right away and taking over the business side right away. But I enjoyed the challenge, just the work itself was not enjoyable. After that I got my current job, where I work as a 'maintenance guy' (a glorified handyman) at an elementary school. Most recently I've just gotten a job at a juvenile home and I'm looking forward to starting my first shift there sometime in the near future...but what does this all say about my personality? Do all of these jobs prepare, guide or asses my future career? Or are people more complicated than that? We are a people that are adapt and evolve, than so do our personalities. I am constantly amazed by the ingenuity of people and their ability to adapt to specific circumstances to achieve their needs or goals. Now I don't discredit this quote, but it certainly afforded me the chance to think a little more about my career choice and my personality.

So I pretty much finished editing my SF trip pictures so I can put them on Facebook and I would put some up...but I'm kind of sleepy and Meet the Robinsons is on TV...so till tomorrow. Later days!
My most favorite line from the movie:
Bowler Hat Guy: "Now, my slave, seize the boy!"
[T-Rex traps Lewis in the corner, but has trouble grabbing him]
Bowler Hat guy: "What's going on? Why aren't you seizing the boy?"
T-Rex: [garbled voice] "I have a big head and little arms. I'm just not sure how well this plan was thought through."
[Bowler Hat guy glares into his headset]
T-Rex: "Master?"

"Around here, however, we don't look backward for very long. We keep moving forward, opening up new doors and doing new things...and curiosity keeps leading us down new paths." - Walt Disney

Stag - (noun) A male deer, especially an adult male deer

So this might be a shorter blog tonight. I have this stupid cold that is just killing me right now. Like last night was the worst. It's fine and I can handle it all pretty well when i'm up and walking around, but when I tried to go to sleep last night it was horrible. Spent the whole time coughing, as soon as I lay down, it feels like I have liquid pooling up in my throat and it takes forever for me to fall back asleep...and when I do, I keep getting woken up with coughing fits. I fully hate being sick! So I'm drinking lots of liquids and just trying to drown this bug. We'll see.

Here are a few pictures that I took from the other night and just didn't end up posting. I was drawn outside Ramses wanted to go outside and play in the fresh snow and I just ended up taking a few shots:

So this one is just a weird picture of my shed that my dad and I built this summer.

This is just some...I'm not really sure...I think it's a candle holder...or something, but it's just sitting there in our yard and I like the way it looks=)

Here's Ramses, wondering why I'm taking a picture of him instead of playing with him!

So this next one. I'm sorry it's at such a weird angle...I don't really shoot many videos with my iPhone and it was late at night so I wasn't really thinking about how it would come up...and I don't know how to change it, but here is Ramses...just watch it:

Alright, well those were form the other day. Today...well the reason why I'm so tired today (besides the lack of sleep) is because I had a pretty full day. Had YK in the morning/afternoon and cousin's cousin's stag in the evening. His names Sheldon and he's not my cousin...but my cousins cousin...but I call him and his cousins family=) Sad story is that he's getting married in 2 weeks and he got engaged in December...but it's not like what some people might be thinking, it's not a shotgun marriage...turns out his gf's dad just found he has cancer and has about 6 months to live, so they decided to get married as soon as they can so he can be there for the wedding. Pretty sad story...=( But his stag was good, very relaxing, watched some Canucks, WE WON!!! Played some hockey, scored a goal, but it was on some 12 year old kid who was in goal...so it's not that impressive I guess, but it was a nice goal (or at least I think so), ate pizza, dressed him up like a girl, paraded him around. The usual stag stuff, and ended the night with board games. All in all it was a great day, just very long and tiring. Here are a few pictures from the day (none of Sheldon dressed up like a girl) and then I'm going to bounce into bed. Later days.

McRoberts Grad sweater. Looks pretty nice!!!

Spring Reign hat. Makes me look forward to spring already!

I love art! Here's a really cool 3 panel painting.
One day I'm going to try to do something like this...just on a smaller scale.

I dig Mandarin Oranges, I just don't know why recently they have been coming with so many seeds!

Just playing around with the iPhone HDR settings while playing hockey. This is two pictures layered on top of each other. That's why people have silhouettes of themselves.

Coolest goalie jersey ever...oh and the goalie in the back, behind the net, that's the kid I scored on...and literally, he doesn't come over the height of the net. He's a short kid, but really good!!!

My hockey stick! Ole faithful...it hasn't broken yet!
